Galactocele (Bukol sa suso na ang laman ay gatas)

Tanong (T): May Q po ako. Kapa2ngnak ko lng 3mos ago, ng breastfeed po ako 4 2mos den stop ko n, npansin ko n lng po n may bukol prang namuong laman. Ano po kya 2? Pls help. Worid po ako. Tnx.

Doc Gino (DG): Ang bukol sa dibdib ay nararapat na masuring mabuti kapag ito ay napansin. Karaniwang ang sanhi ng bukol kapag nagpapasuso ay dahil sa mga namuong gatas at ito ay bihirang maging sanhi ng kanser.

Kahit ganito, nararapat pa ring masuring mabuti sa lalong madaling panahon kung kaya't dapat na magpakonsulta sa isang manggagamot. Maaaring gawin ang isa o higit pa sa mga sumusunod: ‘ultrasound’, ‘mammography’ (x-ray ng suso), o ‘fine needle aspiration biopsy’. Ang mga ito ay makatutulong upang malaman kung ang bukol ay kanser o hindi. Nawa ay nasagot ko ang iyong tanong.

Handa Ka Na Bang Magretiro?

Sa Pilipinas, kapag umabot na sa 65 taong gulang ang isang tao, masasabing pwede nang huminto sa pagtatrabaho at mag-enjoy na lamang sa buhay. Nguni’t nakahanda ba si Juan Dela Cruz na mamuhay ng ayon sa kanyang naisin kahit walang trabaho? Naiisip kaya ni Juan ang magiging buhay kapag dumating na sa edad na ito? Habang ang tao ay nasa murang edad pa lamang, natural lamang na malayo pa sa isip nila ang bagay na ito. Kapag tumanda na si Juan kailangang mamahinga na sa pagtatrabaho o magretiro.

Human Rabies

Here is a short PowerPoint presentation about rabies--a deadly viral disease usually transmitted from the virus-laden saliva of rabid animals. The most common animal reservoir are the dogs. Other animals include cats, monkeys, foxes, bats and mongoose. Chickens and snakes do not transmit the disease. 


If a person were bitten by an animal where rabies is known to be prevalent, immediate washing of the wound is necessary. Medical evaluation should be done for further treatment and vaccination. Human Rabies

Butas sa puso (Septal Defect)

Tanong (T): May QUESTION po ako. Ang pamangkin ko, who is 2 months old now, baby girl, pag naiyak na ngingitim. Then, one early am, nangitim na naman. Ang sabi gawa ng plema. Pero  nung  kinunan  sya ng  dugo  for examination, d Dr. finds out na low blood ang  pamangkin  ko. Yan na po. Ang question ko, ano po ba ang dapat naming gawin?

Payo ni Doktor (PD): Kapag cyanotic o nangigitim ang bata kapag naiyak marahil ay meron siyang karamdaman sa puso.

T: Ok, ung kakulangan nya sa dugo?

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

Tanong (T): Kakatapos ko lng po ng meanstruation ko ngsex po kme after 5 days. Maskit po ang puson ko at balakang. Possible po kya un sa pagbubuntis? Ano po pede inumin para mgkaregla? Tnx po.

Doc Gino: Mas makabubuti kung bigyan mo ako ng kaunting detalye. Maaari mo bang ibigay ang mga sumusunod para masabi ko ng mabuti ang sagot sa iyong tanong?

Lung cancer for never smokers

Science is very dynamic. People learn more and more each day. In the medical school, I was taught that the majority of smokers develop lung cancer. As a student, I paid little attention to non-smokers. Non-smokers also could develop the disease. The clip below tells us that people who never smoke could develop lung cancer because of a bad gene. 
 

On air at DWIZ

With Ms. Marou Pahati-Sarne of DWIZ 882 kHz, we discussed health problems like women's diseases and rabies. It was my first time to appear on radio. I had a great time. This happened on Easter Sunday, 4 April 2010.

Pork lechon, pork sinigang, tocino, fried fish, banana q, fish balls, leche flan, pork chop, patis, and a bottle of soft drinks. These foods are delicious for the Filipino taste buds but do they add life, as one soft drink company used to boast several years ago?

Check the facts first before you share

Nowadays, information can spread at the speed of thought. But the information should be verified first before one could share. Wrong information may lead to devastating effects and cause some people's lives and properties. It is one's responsibility to share reliable information in the entire blogosphere.


The video (2:14) below advices us to check the information first before sharing it with others. On the other hand, before we follow somebody else's advice, it is crucial to check the reliability of the source of information.
