Human genes patented?

No. It is a curiosity why anyone would want to patent the human DNA, the building blocks of every living thing in the planet. Who owns Nature? Why would anyone want to have the exclusive rights to it? While the judge's ruling is clear cut, it would be interesting to know the pharmaceutical company's rationale behind it.
