Here is a short PowerPoint presentation about rabies--a deadly viral disease usually transmitted from the virus-laden saliva of rabid animals. The most common animal reservoir are the dogs. Other animals include cats, monkeys, foxes, bats and mongoose. Chickens and snakes do not transmit the disease.
If a person were bitten by an animal where rabies is known to be prevalent, immediate washing of the wound is necessary. Medical evaluation should be done for further treatment and vaccination.
